Typography in the spotlight / Typografie in de spotlight

I really enjoyed this video about signs and typography in Brooklyn and Queens. 

Loved the old (cinema?) sign that says 'Belts, Bronze, Chain, Sprockets', the 'egg' sign and 'Rockrose'. But my favorite is definitely the 'Mast Brothers Chocolate'!

Heb met plezier naar dit filmpje gekeken over uithangborden en typografie in Brooklyn en Queens. 

Ik was vooral onder de indruk van het oude (bioscoop?) bord waarop staat 'Belts, Bronze, Chain, Sprockets', het 'egg' uithangbord en 'Rockrose'. Maar mijn favoriet is toch wel 'Mast Brothers Chocolate'!

I think it's been there for years (hiding a window?), but I still really like it. So, today I finally took a picture! In Dutch the text means something like 'it's all about the line'.

Volgens mij staat dit er al jaren (om een raam te verbergen?), maar ik vind het nog steeds heel mooi. Dus vandaag nam ik eindelijk de tijd om een foto te nemen!

A few months ago these were all over town. 

I really like the handwriting (and the message of course ;))

Een paar maanden geleden stond deze tekst op allerlei plaatsen in de stad. 

Ik vind het handschrift erg fijn (en de boodschap natuurlijk ;))

Unexpected DIY find in the street / Onverwachte DIY vondst op straat

New fabric! / Nieuwe stoffen!

My mother-in-law visited last week. She brought four bags of fabrics and I was allowed to pick some!  JEEEJ!

Mijn schoonmoeder was afgelopen week op bezoek. Ze bracht vier zakken vol lappen stof mee en ik mocht er een paar uit kiezen! JEEEJ!

Just fantasizing.... blue overall with yellow accents for my little boy, maybe a jacket for myself made of the petrol wool (and with orange lining?).

Zit nu te denken aan een blauw tuinbroekje voor mijn zoontje met knalgele accenten, misschien een jasje voor mezelf van de petrolkleurige wol (en voeren met de oranje ruit?).
